On May 13, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., the Catholic University of Braga will host the conference “AI and Analytics in Decision-Making” in the Isidro Alves Auditorium. The event is part of a series of conferences associated with the launch of the new bachelor’s degree program in Applied Management.
Against a backdrop marked by the rapid evolution of Artificial Intelligence, the growing centrality of data, and the impact of analytics on management processes, this event aims to provide a forum for reflection and the exchange of perspectives on the challenges and opportunities that AI presents to organizations and society.
Throughout the session, we will address key current issues, such as regulatory frameworks for artificial intelligence in Europe, the impact of AI on organizations, and how companies can prepare to adopt decision-making processes based on data and artificial intelligence.
The program will begin at 5:45 p.m. with a Welcome Coffee, followed at 6:00 p.m. by a welcome session with Ana Salazar, Coordinator of the Bachelor’s Program in Applied Management, and Bruno Nobre SJ, Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences at the Catholic University.
At 6:15 p.m., there will be a panel discussion featuring Paulo Cunha, Member of the European Parliament; Ricardo Vilaça, Critical TechWorks; Vítor Moreira, City of Braga and Head of Smart Cities; and Emanuel Gouveia, professor at Católica Braga.
The session ends at 7:30 p.m., with closing remarks by Paulo Dias, Vice-Rector of the Braga Campus of the Catholic University.
