What are the objectives?

At the end of the course, students should have the following skills:

• Basic knowledge of the morphology and syntax of the Latin language;
• Recognition of Latin elements in Portuguese vocabulary;
• Reading and understanding simple Latin texts, using the dictionary;
• Recognizing Latin elements in Portuguese words.
   

Recipients

The Free Latin Initiation Course is aimed at all possible audiences, from the Portuguese Catholic University or outside (even pre-university students, from the 10th grade onwards).
 

Methodologies

The basic grammar content will be explained using commentaries on selected texts of gradual difficulty, preferably by authors of Latin literature.
