Although it is widely publicised because of the scandals in the Church, the issue of abuse touches on the different realities in which we live, whether or not they are directly connected to ecclesial life. Abuses of power also occur in labour and educational institutions. In this sense, this is a problem that should worry all those who have management responsibilities, whether they are ecclesial, educational or in some way related to management or coordination positions in institutions. One of the dimensions of the abusive dynamics that is least worked on is the marked recourse to omission and silence. Ignoring the problem seems to be an easy and recurrent option, but one that perpetuates a culture of abuse. Aware of this reality, the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences (UCP) is proposing a training week (25 hours) in which the problem of abuse will be analysed by international and national researchers who have dedicated part of their studies to critically reflecting on the culture of abuse with a view to transforming it into a culture of care.
Recipients
Academic community, teachers, parish and diocesan leaders, general public.
