Notas:

  • For application purposes, it is sufficient to submit a digital copy of these documents. However, in order to obtain the Certificate of Equivalence to Portuguese Secondary Education (required when applying via Specific Access), you must provide the Directorate-General for Education with legally valid copies (notarised), duly translated into Portuguese and duly validated with a Hague apostille or consular validation.

  • Notarised copy: this is a copy of a given document made by an authority with the legal power to do so, which ensures that the copy is in conformity with the original. These notarised copies may also include legally valid translations.

  • International validation of documents issued by official entities in third countries:

a. Hague Apostille: this is a formality that certifies the authenticity of public acts issued in the territory of a contracting state and which must be presented in the territory of another contracting state to the same Convention, thus giving them formal probative value.

b. Countries that are not signatories to the Hague Convention need to carry out the procedure replaced, in signatory countries, by the Hague Apostille, carried out by the Consular Services of the country where the documents to be validated were issued.
