She has a PhD in Social Work from the Faculty of Human Sciences (FCH-UCP Lisbon), a Master's degree and a degree in Social Work from the Portuguese Catholic University - Braga Regional Centre.
Between 2006 and 2007, she was Technical Director of an IPSS in the area of ageing. Between 2009 and 2012, she designed (in co-authorship) and advised on three social projects funded by POPH in the area of Gender Equality, Domestic Violence and Human Trafficking. Since 2015, she has been a member of the Board of the Braga Solidarity Centre - Projecto Homem (in the area of Addictive Behaviours and Dependencies).
