Católica Braga lecturer presents book on Eugénio de Andrade

On 18 January 2025, Cândido de Oliveira Martins, lecturer in Portuguese Studies at the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences of the Portuguese Catholic University - Braga, presented Maria Bocchiochio's latest publication, ‘Reflexos de um Poeta: a última entrevista de Eugénio de Andrade’ (Reflections of a Poet: Eugénio de Andrade's last interview) at FNAC - Braga.

The book follows on from the study begun by the University of Coimbra researcher, who in 2023 published the essay ‘Writing the Body - a reading of Eugénio de Andrade's poetry’. 


Biography Maria Bocchiochio

Maria Bocchiochio has a PhD in Portuguese Literature and was a Reader in Italian (2009-2020) at the Faculty of Letters of the University of Coimbra. Since 2018 she has been a researcher and coordinator of the ‘poetics and rhetoric’ line of work at the Interuniversity Centre for Camonian Studies at the University of Coimbra (CIEC IIIUC), dedicated to the study of the forms of existence of Camonian works in the diasynchrony of their reception. Over the years, she has dedicated herself to various disciplines, namely Portuguese literature, philology and linguistics, Italian literature, translation and interpretation, and has specialised knowledge of Hebrew and biblical Greek and their respective cultures. As a framework and perspective for his work, he is specifically interested in the heuristic, ecdotal, intertextual, thematic, philological commentary and hermeneutic research that he has been developing in the area of Portuguese literature, with regard to variant criticism, genetic criticism and the critical editing of texts.
