On 3 December, at 3.30 p.m., as part of International Volunteer Day, there will be a charity film screening under the slogan "Small gestures, big encounters... UCP open doors" in the Aula Magna of the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences of the Portuguese Catholic University (UCP) - Braga.
This meeting aims to reverse the usual scenario in which volunteering is experienced only within institutions, bringing it now into the university as a space for meeting, closeness and care. The initiative affirms the importance of intergenerationality, bringing together young people, adults and the elderly in a cultural moment that symbolises the strength of human bonds. It also assumes the conviction that truly transformative volunteering must be constant, consistent and daily, contributing to the building of a more empathetic, conscious and committed society for the common good.
This initiative, promoted by Voluntaria-te da UCP - Braga in collaboration with the Community Psychology Service, is aimed at the entire academic community, as well as users of IMA, Cáritas Diocesana, the Portuguese Red Cross - Braga, the Venerable Third Order of St. Francis - Guimarães and the Asilo de S. José.
By providing this moment of sharing, the Braga Campus reaffirms its humanistic and educational mission, opening its doors to those most in need and inviting the entire community to walk side by side in service to others.
