Cândido de Oliveira Martins, a lecturer at the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences of the Portuguese Catholic University - Braga, took part as a speaker in the most recent edition of the Inter-County Library Days, which took place on 9, 10 and 11 July 2025 in the municipalities of Amares, Terras de Bouro and Vila Verde.

The theme of his speech was ‘500 Years of Camões’, which is part of the programme dedicated to promoting reading, literature and cultural heritage.

The initiative, which was attended by 190 registered professionals, had the motto ‘Back to Reading’, which helped to reinforce the central role of school and municipal libraries in promoting literacy and a love of books.
