Eleonora C. V. Costa is a Clinical Psychologist with a PhD in Psychology, specialising in Health Psychology. She is an Assistant Professor in the Psychology programme at the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences of the Portuguese Catholic University (UCP). Her main work has been in the areas of psychosexual health promotion and HIV prevention in the female population, with several papers published in national and international peer-reviewed journals. She has extensive research experience in the field of women's health in primary health care and coordinates a research project on the determinants of women's health in primary health care, whose main focus is on risk behaviours, trauma and associated illness.
