It is intended the acquisition of knowledge, skills and competences at the level of the analysis of the relationship between emotion, affect and culture, and more specifically:
- Present the concepts of emotion, affect and culture, as well as their classification and associated variables;
- Introduce students to the research conducted in the field of Cultural Psychology and Emotion, as well as to the theoretical models that explain the relationship between emotion and culture;
- Examine the growing evidence that emotions are influenced and shaped through social, cultural, and linguistic processes
- Understand the relationship between emotion, language, and cognition, as well as the contributions of cognitive science to culture and emotion;
- Understand the interrelationship between emotion and culture through empirical studies concerning their mutual influence;
- Understand the relationship between culture, emotion and psychopathology;
- Develop skills of theoretical analysis of the cultural modeling of emotion.
