On June 12, at 11:00 a.m., the public defense of Ernesto Joaquín Tages Machado’s doctoral dissertation in Philosophy will take place in the Aula Magna of the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa.

The candidate will defend his thesis titled “Ethics, Emotions, and Power: An Interdisciplinary Study on Moral Corruption.”

By delegation of the Rector of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, the session will be presided over by the Vice-Rector, José Manuel Pereira de Almeida.

The main examiner will be:

• Dr. Roberto Buil Merrill, Assistant Professor at the Institute of Letters and Humanities, University of Minho;
• Dr. Maria João Dias de Carvalho Neves Cabrita, Assistant Professor at the University of Beira Interior.

The exams consist of an evaluation of the thesis and will last no more than two hours, with the same amount of time allotted for the defense and discussion as for the oral examination.
