On May 20, Alberto Lo Presti’s biography “Igino Giordani, an Unarmed Hero” will be presented in Braga.
The event will take place in the Prof. Manuel Isidro Alves Auditorium, on the Camões Campus of the Regional Center of the Portuguese Catholic University, at 6:30 p.m., and will feature the author and other speakers such as Pedro Vaz Patto, judge and president of the National Justice and Peace Commission; Isabel Estrada Carvalhais, professor of Political Science and International Relations at the University of Minho; and the Archbishop Emeritus of Braga, D. Jorge Ortiga.
This event is part of the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the arrival of the Focolare Movement in Portugal.
In addition to Braga, book presentations (published by Editora Cidade Nova) are scheduled in Lisbon, Porto, and Ovar.
Igino Giordani (1894–1980) was a Catholic intellectual, politician, professor, writer, journalist, and co-founder of the Focolare Movement; his beatification process is currently underway.
