The Celeirós School Group kicked off the new school year on September 11 with its Cultural Days, an event that proved particularly inspiring and exceeded all expectations.
The highlight of the day was the presence of Professor Eduardo Jorge Duque, who addressed the topic "Human values and education in generational transformations." Eduardo Duque developed a comprehensive and engaging reflection, exploring the concept of values without falling into judgments. He emphasized that "education does not need specialists, it needs people who love to educate," a statement that resonated strongly with teachers. He also argued that the fundamental role of the teacher is to awaken students to life, highlighting the ethical and human dimension of teaching. The speaker's presentation stood out for its cultural and philosophical richness, revisiting the history of education from Plato and the models of Greece and Rome, through the Middle Ages, to the present day.
Earlier, at the beginning of the session, the director of the Group, Carlos Louro, highlighted the importance of starting the school year with a moment of sharing and reflection on the current challenges of education, emphasizing the need to think of school as a space for humanization and not just instruction.
