Partnerships with Medpartner and Ankira highlighted on the European stage of social and technological innovation for ageing
The Master's in Applied Social Gerontology from the Portuguese Catholic University (UCP) - Braga was present at the XXXV International Congress of Geriatrics and Gerontology, held in Ourense, Spain, a city that has established itself as a European benchmark in promoting active and healthy ageing.
Damiana Ribeiro, Diana Loureiro and Inês Pinheiro, master's students with a degree in Social Work from UCP - Braga, took an active part in the event, not only as assistants, but also as authors and presenters of scientific papers, reflecting the excellence of their training and their strong commitment to social and community intervention.
One of the highlights of this participation was the presentation of research projects with organisations such as Medpartner and Ankira, which have been real drivers of innovation in the field of social gerontology. These collaborations have made it possible to transform scientific knowledge into real and effective solutions that meet the needs of the ageing population - an increasingly central segment of the so-called silver economy.
At a time when the challenges of ageing are placing new demands on all areas of society, synergies between teaching, research, technology and the community are becoming not only desirable, but essential. Medpartner and Ankira are examples of how these strategic alliances can boost social impact and promote innovative, sustainable and person-centred responses.
With this active presence in Ourense, the Master's in Applied Social Gerontology at UCP - Braga reaffirms itself as a centre of excellence, innovation and social transformation, at the service of a fairer, more inclusive society that is prepared for the future of ageing.
