The Portuguese Catholic University once again hosted another edition of the Social Work Seminar, an event that, year after year, has established itself as one of the most significant moments for the academic and professional community in the field. The seminar brought together final-year students, lecturers and representatives from the organisations where the internships take place, providing a unique opportunity for sharing, reflection and recognition of the work carried out throughout the course.

The opening session was attended by the Director of the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences, Bruno Nobre, the coordinator of the degree course in Social Work, Catarina Vieira da Silva, and Dra Graça Correia, representative of the Order of Social Workers, who emphasised the growing relevance of Social Work in the current social context. Throughout the day, various thematic panels addressed key issues such as the integration of immigrant populations, the reintegration of vulnerable groups and the challenges of ageing, with the participation of leading professionals and experts.

One of the most memorable moments was the presentation of the ‘Professional Support and Employability Centre for Social Work Alumni’, reinforcing the institution's commitment to the professional continuity of its graduates. The morning break also allowed for a visit to the photographic exhibition on domestic violence and a poster exhibition dedicated to the pioneers of Social Work.

The afternoon brought new perspectives and enriching debates, culminating in a performance by the S. José Nursing Home Choir, which moved those present. This was followed by the presentation of the new members of the SerSocial Student Committee and the awarding of the diploma for the best scientific poster, celebrating the merit and creativity of the students.

This seminar, whose tradition is now firmly rooted in the academic life of Católica, represents much more than a symbolic end to the curricular internships. It is a true intergenerational and interinstitutional meeting, highlighting the quality of the degree in Social Work, the dedication of the students and the concrete impact of the work carried out in the field.

With strong participation and a vibrant atmosphere of dialogue, sharing, and inspiration, this year's edition reaffirmed the central role of this event in promoting Social Work and bringing together academia, professionals, and the community. It was a truly spectacular day that reflected the humanistic mission and rigorous training of the Portuguese Catholic University.
