Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP) reached the 4th position worldwide in SDG 16 - Peace, Justice and Effective Institutions, moving up one position from the previous year's classification, according to THE Impact Ranking 2023, released by Times Higher Education.
This is one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), defined in the United Nations 2030 agenda to promote a peaceful and inclusive society, with universal access to justice and the existence of effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels.
The improvement of the results of Universidade Católica was also achieved in the Global Ranking, with UCP moving up to the 201-300 range when in the last edition it was ranked in the 301-400 range.
Increasingly valued by higher education institutions all over the world, THE Impact Ranking 2023, counted in this edition with the participation of 1591 institutions (13% more than in the previous year).
Also to be noted is the 79th position in SDG 5 (Gender Equality) and the increase in SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), for the 101-200 range.
In SDG 10 (Reducing Inequalities) UCP maintained its classification (101-200).
The THE Impact Ranking University aims to assess the performance of universities in relation to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations, measuring the social and environmental impact of the actions developed by universities on topics such as gender equality, quality education, climate change, world peace and economic growth.
These results consolidate the excellent performance of Universidade Católica Portuguesa, recognised, for the 4th consecutive year, as the best Portuguese university by Times Higher Education, in THE World University Rankings 2023.
