The biography of Camilo Castelo Branco, written by Aquilino Ribeiro and with a preface by Cândido Oliveira Martins, professor at the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences (FFCS) of the Portuguese Catholic University - Braga, has been featured in various media outlets, including Diário de Notícias and SIC's Leste/Oeste programme, hosted by Nuno Rogeiro. The work was also presented publicly at the recent Utopia Festival in Braga.
Aquilino Ribeiro's Romance de Camilo is the most comprehensive biography ever written about Camilo's life and work and appears for the first time in a single volume, with a new preface for this edition.
Cândido Oliveira Martins is also currently coordinating a collection of 12 books by Camilo Castelo Branco (each hardcover volume contains a critical introduction). This collection of selected works by Camilo is being completed this year, 2025, as part of the celebrations of the bicentenary of the writer's birth (1825-2025). It should be noted that this collection of Camilo's works is sponsored by the CCDRN and supported by several municipalities.
