On 27 September, the Braga campus of the Portuguese Catholic University is celebrating World Tourism Day with an initiative run by the campus' Tourism course.
‘Travelling, Blogging and Peace’ is the theme of this event, which will feature two travel bloggers, Ruthia Portelinha and Rui Batista, who will share two perspectives on what it means to be a travel blogger.
Ruthia Portelinha is the creator of the Berço do Mundo blog, which she says is ‘a tribute to the great continent that saw me born’. Through this blog, Ruthia ‘wants to inspire other families to travel with their children’ because she believes that travelling is a wonderful way of educating and forming tolerant and curious citizens.
Bornfreee is the name given to Rui Batista's blog, ‘a journalist by vocation and a travel blogger by passion’, he says. He has visited more than 100 countries and created Bornfreee to share his experiences on the road. His passion for travelling resulted in the publication of a book ‘Bornfreee: The world is an adventure’.
