On September 3, at 3 p.m., the public exam for Artur Emanuel Ilharco Galvão's PhD in Philosophy will take place in the António Freire SJ Aula Magna of the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences of the Portuguese Catholic University (UCP) - Braga.
The candidate will defend his thesis “Rationality and Socialization: the Ritual Factor in the Philosophical Proposals of Richard Rorty and Alasdair MacIntyre”.
Isabel Capeloa Gil, Rector of the Portuguese Catholic University, will preside over the defense and the panel of judges will be composed of:
- Dr. Sofia Gabriela Assis de Morais Miguens Travis, Full Professor at the Faculty of Arts and Letters of the University of Porto;
- Dr. José Maria da Silva Rosa, Full Professor at the Faculty of Arts and Letters of the University of Beira Interior;
- Dr. Marta Maria Anjos Galego de Mendonça, Associate Professor at the Philosophy Department of the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences of the New University of Lisbon;
- Dr. Manuel Gonçalves Sumares Júnior, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences of the Portuguese Catholic University;
- Dr. Álvaro Manuel Rodrigues Balsas, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences of the Portuguese Catholic University;
- Dr. Bruno Miguel Monteiro Nobre, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences of the Portuguese Catholic University.
