Ethics and Deontology in Social Work

Understand, in its genesis and current implications, the elementary concepts elaborated by Western philosophy about human being and acting. Relate them to the issues raised by today's global society and by techno-scientific progress. Apply them to the scope of professional activity and provide the context for the ultimate meanings of professional ethics. Deontology: Deepen ethical and deontological reflection in Social Work training; Recognize its historical link to the respect and fulfillment of human rights. It is intended that students acquire basic knowledge that will enable them to: interpret the principles, values, duties and norms that determine the professional practice; Acquire critical and analytical capacity to deal with ethical dilemmas and problems arising from professional practice.
