He has a degree in Philosophy and Humanities from the Portuguese Catholic University (UCP), a PhD in Theology (Lateran University of Rome) and in Philosophy (FLUL). He was Assistant Professor at the Centre for Classical Studies at UCP between 1996 and 1998 and a Fellow of the Discoveries Commission (Vatican Archives 1999-2000) and FCT (Patristic Institute Augustinianum, 2000-03). Since 2004, he has been an Assistant Professor at UCP, teaching Ethics, Social Doctrine of the Church, Anthropology, Latin, Philosophy of Musical Arts, Patristics and History of Religions.
A researcher at CLEPUL, he coordinated the versioning and annotation of the Latin texts in the 30 volumes of Obra Completa do Padre António Vieira and Obras Pioneiras da Cultura Portuguesa (C. Leitores, 2014 and 2019), as well as the area of Religion Studies in the Diccionário dos Antis (INCM, 2018).
She collaborates with the Philosophy Centre (UL) in the rescue of 16th century manuscripts on social and political ethics as part of the De Restitutione project. At UCP-Braga, she held management positions from 2004 to 2006 and 2011 to 2017. She is a member of the Board of the Institute for Studies in Religion and coordinates the PhD programme of the same name at the FFCS.
