Íris Martins Oliveira has a PhD in Applied Psychology from the University of Minho, with a specialism in Educational Psychology awarded by the Portuguese Psychologists' Association. During her doctoral studies, which were funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology, she completed an internship at Northeast Ohio Medical University dedicated to research and the promotion of career development.
Her professional career has been dedicated to teaching in higher education, research and educational psychological intervention. Since 2019, she has been an Invited Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences of the Portuguese Catholic University and a researcher at the Centre for Philosophical and Humanistic Studies.
Her research interests include the socialisation of children for work, the articulation between career, academic and work processes, as well as educational psychological assessment. She has published and communicated on these topics, as well as serving as a reviewer for international scientific journals.
In community outreach, she maintains activities as a psychologist, collaborates in initiatives arising from psychological interventions in educational contexts and is a member of the Board of the Portuguese Association for Career Development. She has also collaborated in initiatives organised by the Directorate-General for Education and the Order of Portuguese Psychologists.
