The Portuguese Catholic University (UCP) in Braga will host an Open Day for its Bachelor's Degree in Applied Data Science on Saturday, July 26. The event is aimed at high school students, especially those interested in the fields of Statistics, Computing, or Artificial Intelligence.

Participants will be able to learn more about the currently highly relevant field of data science and the career opportunities associated with it. They will have the opportunity to hear about the experiences of students on the degree program and to ask data science professionals about their daily work and the impact of their work. The session includes a mini-class on "Data Science and Society" and contact with student projects.

There will also be an information session, also broadcast online, with useful information about the degree program's curriculum, admission requirements, and scholarships.

Finally, students will be given a hands-on challenge, in which they will be asked to respond to a simulated data analysis task.

Participants may be accompanied by parents or family members. Registration is free but mandatory for both the event and the online broadcast, and can be done using the following form until tomorrow: https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.a
