The Portuguese Catholic University - Braga, in partnership with the Municipality of Póvoa de Lanhoso, is holding a seminar on ‘Actions that Generate Change: The Importance of Volunteering in Social Shops’ on 5 December. The event, which will take place at the Maria da Fonte Interpretive Centre in Póvoa de Lanhoso, will be attended by experts, volunteers and representatives of local institutions.
The organisation of this seminar is the result of a joint initiative between UCP Braga's Degree in Social Work and the local authority, as part of the final internship project of final-year student Inês Pires. The meeting aims to present the results of a focus group on the impact of volunteering in the context of Social Shops, as well as sharing testimonies and practical experiences.
With this decentralised initiative, the Catholic University of Portugal - Braga reinforces its commitment to the integral formation of its students, promoting the link between academia and the community through concrete actions that impact society.
