Wednesday, December 10, 2025 - 16:44

On 11 December, at 3 p.m., an open class will be held via Zoom on the theme ‘The Nexus Social Project - Solidarity Trade Network’, as part of the Innovation, Creativity and Social Responsibility module of the Bachelor's Degree in Social Work.

The speaker will be Dr. Daniela Esteves, who holds a degree in Social Work from ISSSP, is a social worker at the Portuguese Red Cross - Porto Delegation, a member of the Order of Social Workers, a trainer, and a social entrepreneur.

The Nexus Social Project, promoted by the CAIS Association, CASA – Homeless Support Centre and the Portuguese Red Cross – Porto Delegation, was born with a simple and powerful purpose: to rebuild social ties, reduce isolation and promote inclusion through a collaborative network between citizens, local businesses, the corporate sector and institutions.

Through a sustainable and easily replicable model, the project transforms restaurants, cafés, hairdressers, shops and other local services into active points of solidarity. These spaces, identified with the Nexus logo and pictograms, provide essential goods and services to those who need them most. In addition, these spaces help to combat stigma, foster empathy and strengthen the sense of community.
