Carla Cardoso, coordinator of the Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Tourism, was one of the five finalists for the “Best Higher Education Teaching Career” award at the Hospitality Education Awards (HEA) 2025.
The aim of this award is to recognize the academic and professional career of a Higher Education teacher in the areas of Tourism and Hospitality.
The HEA, organized by the Fórum Turismo Association, in partnership with Turismo de Portugal, I.P., are considered the benchmark awards in the area of Tourism Training in Portugal and annually recognize the professionals, projects and companies that stand out for their contribution to the enhancement and development of the tourism sector.
Carla Cardoso
Carla Cardoso has a PhD in Tourism from the University of Bournemouth in the United Kingdom and is a lecturer at the Portuguese Catholic University, where she also coordinates the Tourism Degree and Masters. She is a member of the CEFH - UCP Research Center and has developed research projects in the fields of tourism and European economic integration. She is the author of several national and international scientific publications and is an international expert for the World Destination Excellence Center, based in Canada. She also works as a consultant to companies in the field of tourism.
