On 11 October, Universidade Católica once again challenged its new international students to take part in the International Student Meeting, the national welcoming event, which took place at UCP's Porto Campus.
In this 10th edition, 170 students from 37 nationalities and four continents (Europe, Africa, Asia and America) who had recently arrived at UCP's campi - Braga, Lisbon, Porto and Viseu - came together for this celebration of welcoming, sharing and integration.
The morning was marked by a welcome session at the Porto Regional Centre, attended by the Vice-Rector of the Universidade Católica, Isabel Vasconcelos, and words of welcome to the new international students from the Pro-Rector Isabel Braga da Cruz.
In a spirit of dynamism and interaction, participants were challenged to get to know the campus better through a ‘scavenger hunt’, with teams made up of students from the different campuses. Of the various moments of entertainment, the performance of the academic tuna stands out.
In the afternoon, the group set off on a boat trip along the Douro River, where they could enjoy the sights of the city of Porto and the Cais de Gaia. The day ended with a visit to the Port wine cellars, rounding off this multicultural meeting with a touch of local tradition and history.
With 10 editions, the International Student Meeting is an initiative that reinforces UCP's commitment to integrating and valuing diversity, promoting contact between cultures and offering its students an enriching academic and social experience.
