On 11 November, at 9:15 p.m., the session ‘The reality of Palestinian Christians in the West Bank’ will take place in the Aula Magna of the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences of the Portuguese Catholic University (UCP) - Braga.

This meeting, dedicated to the current situation in the West Bank, will be attended by Hala Yacoub and Nicolas Ghobar, two Palestinian Christians involved in the reality of this territory.

Hala Yacoub is a Palestinian Christian journalist and human rights defender in the West Bank. Through her writing and activism, she sheds light on the daily reality of life under occupation and the unshakeable faith of Palestinian Christians. Her work brings communities together, inviting Christians from around the world to unite in solidarity with Palestine through a common commitment to justice, dignity and peace.

Nicolas Ghobar belongs to the Parish of the Church of the Annunciation in Beit Jala, part of the Christian community of Bethlehem. He is in Portugal to promote handcrafted olive wood items to help support many of the Christian families and religious communities that remain in this Palestinian enclave located in the West Bank, south of Jerusalem.

The initiative is promoted by the Academic Centre of Braga (CAB), the Collective for the Liberation of Palestine, the Pope's Worldwide Prayer Network - Portugal and the Braga Campus of UCP. Admission is free.
