Specialised training in Easy Reading and Cognitive Accessibility will be held at the Portuguese Catholic University (UCP) - Braga on 14, 15, 16, 22 and 23 May.
This initiative by the Bracara Augusta Foundation, in partnership with CERCI Braga and UCP - Braga and with the institutional support of the Municipality of Braga, aims to contribute to a more inclusive and accessible society for all. Promoting social inclusion and active citizenship requires that information and communication be accessible to everyone, regardless of their cognitive abilities or literacy levels. In this context, easy language and cognitive accessibility play a fundamental role in ensuring that people with intellectual disabilities, learning difficulties, dementia, low literacy or language barriers can understand and participate fully in society.
This training course aims to enable participants to create and adapt content that is accessible to people with cognitive difficulties, based on international best practice, digital tools and the use of artificial intelligence. The training is theoretical and practical in nature and guarantees an applied approach geared towards the trainees' professional contexts.
This training is aimed at professionals from organisations working in the areas of Social Action, Education and Culture, or who are involved in projects and services that promote the inclusion of audiences with specific understanding needs.
During the 30 hours of training, six topics will be covered:
- Introduction to Cognitive Accessibility and Easy Reading
- Principles of Easy Reading Techniques
- Testing Easy Reading with Users. Testing Methods
- Online Tools to Create and Verify Accessibility
- Artificial Intelligence in Cognitive Accessibility
- Final Design and Evaluation
The training is free, but registration is required.
