On 1 October, at 6.30 pm, a conference will be held on responses to the demographic challenge and the importance of the Commission for the Protection of the Elderly, at the Braga Legal Association. The initiative is part of International Day of Older Persons, highlighting the importance of this population in society.
The conference ‘The joy of being old: responses to the demographic challenge’ will be presented by Eduardo Duque, professor of Social Work and Master's in Applied Social Gerontology at the Portuguese Catholic University - Braga.
The meeting will also be attended by Judge Dr Estelita de Mendonça, president of the Braga Legal Association, who will be responsible for the opening session, and Dr Conceição Sampaio, vice-president of the Commission for the Protection of the Elderly, who will address ‘The importance of the Commission for the Protection of the Elderly’.
