He has a PhD in Communication Sciences from the University of Paris 2 (Panthéon-Assas) and teaches Sociology of Communication, Investigative Journalism, Political Communication and Research Methods. He is the coordinator of the Master's in Digital Communication, the postgraduate course in Communication in professional football (UCP-Liga de Portugal) and the internships for the Degree in Communication Sciences. He is also a member of the Centre for Philosophical and Humanistic Studies (UCP).
He specialises in Media Sociology, Reception Studies, Migration and Qualitative Methodologies and is the author of three dozen publications and many other papers at national and international events and congresses. His book "Les Portugais de France face à leur télévision. Médias, migrations et enjeux identitaires" (PUR, 2009) was awarded an honourable mention in the Prix national de la recherche de l'Inathèque de France.
