Degree in Applied Management

Program Description

During the three years of the course, students learn to integrate knowledge of management, economics, accounting, finance, operations management, marketing, information systems, statistics, and people management in solving concrete business problems.

In the first two years, the course offers solid training in cross-cutting areas of management. The aim is for students to acquire consistent theoretical knowledge, in terms of concepts and models, and operational skills, through mastery of management tools. The learning model favors methodologies that encourage active student participation and promote the development of essential skills, such as adaptability, collaboration, and problem-solving.

In the third year, students choose one of two areas of specialization:

  • Business Analytics, dedicated to data analysis, artificial intelligence, information visualization, and information management for decision support.
  • Tourism, focused on sustainable destination management, tourism innovation, experience marketing, event management, and strategic management of companies and public bodies in the tourism sector.

The course offers optional modules, applied practice laboratories, and interdisciplinary projects, culminating in a curricular internship that allows students to apply all the knowledge acquired in the classroom in a real-world context.
 

General Objectives
 

  • Promote the acquisition of knowledge and skills that enable students to make informed decisions at a strategic and operational level, promoting efficiency, innovation, and competitiveness in companies and organizations in various sectors of activity;
  • Develop solid technical and technological skills for data extraction and interpretation in management contexts;
  • Foster interdisciplinarity, stimulate creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, problem-solving, and leadership skills;
  • Provide the tools for the design, implementation, and management of projects that stand out and have an impact on society;
  • Train professionals of excellence, capable of effectively and efficiently meeting current and future market demands in areas such as planning, data analysis, strategy, marketing, human resources, economics, accounting, finance, communication, digitization, ethics, and sustainability;

  • Understand and apply statistical and machine learning techniques to solve problems in the context of management;
  • Develop innovative and competitive tourism strategies and projects;
  • Integrate sustainable tourism practices, promoting a balance between economic growth, environmental preservation, and social responsibility.

Graduates in Applied Management will be prepared to perform management, coordination, and leadership roles in companies and organizations across a range of sectors:
