The Chapter Room of the Tibães Monastery received, on November 25th, the 2nd extension of the Walk of Virtues: Person, Heritage and Virtue, under the theme "The Art of the Word". This initiative by the Professor at the Portuguese Catholic University (UCP) - Braga, Ana Cláudia Fernandes, and the Group of Friends of the Tibães Monastery (GAMT) included a conversation around Portuguese love stories through the voice of one who is recognized as one of the greatest figures of Portuguese literature, the writer Mário Cláudio.
Author of a vast and multifaceted work that encompasses fiction, chronicles, poetry, dramaturgy and essays, Mário Cláudio, who will soon celebrate 55 years of profession in the field of literature, establishes himself as one of the most important authors in the Portuguese literary universe.
In a conversation led by UCP Braga professor and specialist in Literary Studies, Cândido Oliveira Martins, we heard about Mário Cláudio's beautiful work "Triunfo do Amor Português", which is about stories of love and transgression recreated from legends and episodes from the History of Portugal, such as those of Pedro and Inês, Leonor Teles and Conde Andeiro, Camilo Castelo Branco and Ana Plácido. These inspiring stories were accompanied to the sound of 17th century music, by Il Filo d'Oro, and by the voice of the Poetry Union and the Face to Face, Book to Book (FFBB) movement.
This moment also marked the debut of tenor Fernando Guimarães directing Il Filo d'Oro.
