Docentes da Católica – Braga em formação internacional das Universidades Jesuítas

Three professors from the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences of the Portuguese Catholic University - Braga took part in the initial module of the “Loyola I” Basic Formation program, promoted by the UNIJES network - Jesuit Universities of Spain, between June 16 and 20, 2025.

Professor Ana Paula Pinto (Humanities), Professor Cláudio Carvalho (Philosophy) and Professor Manuel Antunes da Cunha (Communication Sciences) were part of a group of 64 participants from 11 Spanish Jesuit institutions, including the University of Deusto, the University of Comillas, ESADE, Loyola Andalucía, IQS Barcelona and CESAG Palma de Mallorca, among others.

During the meeting, which took place in Loyola, in the Basque Country, the participants reflected on the educational mission of Jesuit universities, from a personal and community Ignatian approach. The program also included an institutional visit to the University of Deusto, in Bilbao, where the group was warmly welcomed by Vice-Rector Aitziber Aranzazu Irigoras Alberdi.

This was the third time that teachers from the FFCS have taken part in this training course promoted by UNIJES. Module II of the same group will take place in Salamanca from January 26 to 30, 2026.

Católica - Braga's participation in these initiatives reinforces its commitment to Ignatian identity and active collaboration between Christian-inspired universities in Iberia and Europe.
