Católica Braga lecturer receives ‘Alves Redol’ Literary Award

Ana Paula Pinto, lecturer at the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences of the Portuguese Catholic University in Braga, was the winner of the tenth edition of the ‘Alves Redol’ Literary Prize. The winner will receive a prize of seven thousand five hundred euros.

After reviewing 131 entries submitted to the competition, the jury (composed of Ana Cristina Silva, Manuel Amador Frias Martins and Idalina dos Anjos Farinha Canário) unanimously decided to award the prize to Ana Paula Pinto's novel, entitled ‘Silentia: Liturgia de Silêncios’ (Silentia: Liturgy of Silences). It should be noted that the work was submitted under the pseudonym ‘Anna Celeno’

In its assessment, the jury mentioned that the novel is ‘extraordinarily well written, highlighting the peaceful voice of Mariana Alcoforado’.
