The Voluntaria*te group at the Portuguese Catholic University (UCP) – Braga, in partnership with the Monsenhor Airosa Institute (IMA), has launched the solidarity initiative “Lent Calendar”.
According to a press release, ‘this community-based and deeply human project aims to promote the personal empowerment of IMA users and encourage their active participation in the local community.’
To this end, it counts on the collaboration of ‘personalities of recognised merit and proximity to the Institute's partners, in order to reinforce our sense of social responsibility.’
The ‘Lent Calendar’ can be purchased for €5 at various locations in the city of Braga, namely at the CAB (UCP Sales Point), the IMA reception, Pius XII Museum, Sé Museum, Nova Livraria Diário do Minho bookshop, S. Lázaro Parish, Maximinos Parish Council, in various parishes in the city, in partner shops and from private individuals. All proceeds go towards supporting the IMA's social mission.
The initiative also has the support of the Archdiocese of Braga, Braga City Council, Bullet Creative Agency, Diário do Minho, Minha Magazine, Elisabete Cabeleireiros and Boutique d'A Tereza.
With this initiative, UCP – Braga ‘reinforces its commitment to solidarity and social responsibility, mobilising students, teachers and the surrounding community around a cause that promotes inclusion and values the social work carried out by the Monsenhor Airosa Institute,’ the statement said.
