The IACOBUS scientific, cultural and educational cooperation programme, managed by the European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation of the Galicia-Northern Portugal Euroregion, aims to promote the joint development of research activities between university institutions, including the Portuguese Catholic University - Braga.

IACOBUS includes research projects in all areas of knowledge and promotes exchanges between participating entities. Benefiting from the support and funding of the European Union, the programme is based on the priorities defined in the Galicia - Northern Portugal Joint Investment Plan (PIC 21-27) and on the strategic areas established by the Galicia - Northern Portugal Cross-Border Smart Specialisation Strategy (RIS3-T).

The programme is aimed at teachers, pre- and post-doctoral researchers, and administrative and service staff at higher education institutions. Innovation managers with at least five years' experience and R&D (Research and Development) technicians with less than five years' experience are also eligible to participate. However, applicants wishing to participate must have a valid employment contract or research contract with one of the participating entities. They must also be able to work across borders.

Applications, which close on 23 December 2025, must be submitted via the IACOBUS platform. All documents relating to the new calls for proposals are also available on the programme's website.
