The Tourism sector shows high dynamism and employability, not only due to the enormous growth it has shown, both in terms of demand and national and international touristic offer, but also due to its high resilience, which allowed it to be one of the sectors that best responded to the economic and financial crisis.
The emergence and development of new touristic products, new needs and desires of the new tourist market require human resources highly qualified and prepared to respond to an increasingly demanding market.
What does this course offer?
UCP's Master's in Tourism responds to the market's needs and opportunities for growth and employment, aiming for the professional and research excellence that the market demands. With a specialized teaching staff, the course aims to offer highly qualified training in one of two areas of specialization: Management and Administration in Tourism and Cultural and Religious Tourism.
The course also benefits from the renowned prestige of the Portuguese Catholic University in advanced training, as well as the support and cooperation of prestigious partners linked to the tourism sector, namely national hotel and restaurant associations, hotel groups, tour operators, multinational ICT companies, cultural institutions and ANA-Airports.
Objectives
The Master's Degree in Tourism aims to offer specialised, inter and multidisciplinary training at an advanced level.
Specialisation in Tourism Administration and Management
The specific objectives of this branch of specialisation are:
- To provide students with a set of knowledge and tools that will enable them to adopt good practices in the integrated management of Cultural and Religious Heritage and Tourism;
- To offer advanced training, with excellent academic quality, for the development of research and/or consultancy activities in the area of Cultural and Religious Tourism;
- To guide students, from a practical perspective, towards opportunities for growth, diversification and qualification of the tourist offer and the agents associated with the planning, organization, communication and implementation of products in the area of Cultural and Religious Tourism.
