Social Work and Ageing

  1. Understand the challenges and impacts of population aging on society and the field of social work, including demographic trends and the effects of globalization on aging processes.
  2. Identify vulnerabilities within the older adult population, including issues of financial insecurity, health, abuse, and living conditions that are inadequate for supporting the well-being of older adults.
  3. Analyze public and social policies aimed at the elderly population, identifying their effects on professional practice.
  4. Critically reflect on the ethics and role of social workers in social services, such as Residential Facilities for the Elderly, Day Centers, and Home Care Services, promoting best practices in care delivery.
