The Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences at the Portuguese Catholic University is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Professor in the field of Philosophy, in the subfields of Ethics and Philosophical Anthropology.
This call for applications is intended for candidates with a Ph.D. in Philosophy and a relevant academic and research background, particularly in the fields of Ethics, Philosophical Anthropology, and the intersection of Philosophy and Psychology and/or Philosophy and Literature.
The competitive selection process is aimed at carrying out the following activities:
a) Conducting scientific and research activities in the areas of Philosophy covered by the call for applications, with a particular focus on the subfields of Ethics and Philosophical Anthropology;
b) Teaching courses in the scientific fields corresponding to the position’s profile, contributing to the various academic programs offered by the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences;
c) Developing and participating in research projects, including externally funded projects, as well as producing and disseminating scientific knowledge;
d) Supervising and mentoring students, particularly in the context of master’s theses, doctoral dissertations, and other academic work;
e) Participating in academic management, scientific organization, evaluation, and community service activities, contributing to the mission of the FFCS and the Portuguese Catholic University;
f) Conducting activities related to the dissemination of scientific and cultural knowledge and academic cooperation, both nationally and internationally.
