The Archbishop of Braga, José Cordeiro, and Ricardo Rio, the city's mayor, will ‘swap chairs’ this Thursday at 9.15pm, in a conversation moderated by Professor Luís Santos, at the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences.

The ‘Exchange of Chairs’ initiative is organised by the Braga Academic Centre (CAB), the Jesuit university centre in Braga, the ‘Acabados’ association and the Braga Christian Life Community.

‘This is not an ‘improbable conversation’ but rather an exercise in getting to know the reality we inhabit better and giving reasons for our hope,’ reads a note sent to the ECCLESIA Agency.

The conversation aims to ‘reveal, in a simple and unpretentious way, the depth of human, social, political, ecological, religious and spiritual paths in the world, in Portugal and in the city of Braga’.

The organisation hopes that this initiative ‘will make a significant contribution to the personal lives of those present and to the social and professional communities and organisations in the city of Braga’.
