Ricardo Rio and José Cordeiro meet tomorrow at the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences

The Mayor of Braga, Ricardo Rio, and the Archbishop of Braga, José Cordeiro, will speak tomorrow, Thursday, in a conversation moderated by University of Minho professor and columnist Luís Santos, entitled ‘Changing Chairs’.

The event, which starts at 9:15pm at the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences in Braga, is organised by the Braga Academic Centre (CAB), the Jesuit university centre in Braga, the association Acabados and the Christian Life Community of Braga (CVX).

According to the website of the Jesuits in Portugal, ‘this is not an “improbable conversation” but an exercise in getting to know the reality we inhabit better and giving reasons for our hope’.

This meeting - say the organisers - also aims to reveal, in a simple and unpretentious way, the depth of human, social, political, ecological, religious and spiritual paths in the world, in Portugal and in the city of Braga.

The organisers ‘hope that this evening will make a significant contribution to the personal lives of those present and to the social and professional communities and organisations in the city of Braga’.
