TESTEd project organizes Maker Space event in Finland

Tuesday, May 21, 2024 - 14:45

The Maker Space event in Oulu, Finland, took place between May 13 and 17 and brought together participants from the five universities that are part of the TESTEd project, including the Portuguese Catholic University (UCP). The Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences was represented by researcher Raquel Rodrigues, with local support from Professor Paulo Dias and Professor Cândido Oliveira Martins.

The main aim of this event was to promote reflection on the opportunities and possibilities of developing Open Educational Resources for Teachers, within the framework of the five cross-cutting topics which, according to TESTEd, should be placed at the forefront of teacher training. These topics are: education for sustainable development; democratic education and active citizenship; diversity and gender equality; multilingual and cultural diversity; and the digitalization of learning spaces.

To this end, various workshops were organized with students from the different countries, in particular the workshop on the stages of Design Thinking, according to Hasso Plattner's model, which covered everything from diagnosing obstacles to creating teaching resources for each of the above-mentioned topics.

Students from different countries had the opportunity to create different prototypes of these Open Educational Resources, using a working methodology based on international interaction and collaborative dialog.

The TESTEd project is funded by the European Commission under the Erasmus+ Teacher Academies initiative.
