
On March 10, an event was held at the Hotel do Bom Jesus in Braga, bringing together various entities around the Camillian commemorations - the Northern Regional Coordination and Development Commission (CCDRN), represented by the vice-president for Culture and Heritage, Jorge Sobrado; the mayor of Braga, Ricardo Rio; the president of the Confraria do Bom Jesus, Canon Mário Martins, among many other personalities from municipalities (vice-presidents, councillors), foundations and cultural associations in the northern region.
At this session, the Pro-Rector of the Portuguese Catholic University (UCP) - Braga, Paulo Dias, signed the partnership contract with the CCDRN, making UCP-Braga one of the entities in the Partnership Network of this Camillian commemorations program.
At the same event, Cândido Oliveira Martins, a lecturer at UCP-Braga, presented the first volume of the Camillian Collection (“No Bom Jesus do Monte”), a collection of Camillian works of which he is the coordinator - 12 selected books by Camilo Castelo Branco will be published by 2026.

The CCDRN is coordinating a wide-ranging cultural program to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the birth of the writer Camilo Castelo Branco (1825-2025), which began in March this year and will continue until March 2026. Among the many activities of this cultural program, in the areas of Literature, Theatre, Music and Cinema, there is also the reissue of a Camillian Collection of some of the writer's literary works.
