On December 13, the Liga Portugal Arena was officially inaugurated and the Catholic University of Portugal - Braga was present, represented by Fr. Bruno Nobre, Director of the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences and Manuel Cunha, Coordinator of the Post-Graduation Communication in Professional Football, in partnership with Liga Portugal.
Pedro Proença, president of the body that oversees professional soccer, Luís Montenegro, Prime Minister, and Rui Moreira, Mayor of Porto, cut the ribbon that symbolically inaugurated the building.
Pedro Proença, Luís Montenegro, Rui Moreira and Manuel Linda, bishop of Porto, then raised the curtain on the Arena Liga Portugal plaque.
The event was attended by F.C. Porto president André Villas-Boas; Benfica president Rui Costa; and Braga president António Salvador, as well as Fary Faye, president of Boavista. It should be noted that André Villas-Boas and Rui Costa sat side by side.
Other well-known figures from Portuguese soccer were present, such as Maniche, Pauleta, Domingos Paciência, Luís Henriques and José Neves, president of AF Porto.
