The conference “Teaching the Future by Reshaping the Present”, which will mark the end of the TESTEd Project - Towards a European Syllabus in Teacher Education, will take place on April 3, 2025, in Bochum, Germany, with the possibility of broadcasting and participating online.

This project, funded by the European Union (EU), has developed work on the theme of cross-curricular teaching and learning practices in teacher training.

The processes of social transformation throughout the EU make it increasingly important to prepare teachers for the cross-cutting, interdisciplinary issues they face in the classroom. This international consortium is based on the motto “Teaching the Future by Reshaping the Present”, in order to find solutions to the challenges, with the five cross-cutting issues of the TESTEd Project as its pillars:

  • Education for Sustainable Development (ESD);
  • Democratic Education and Active Citizenship;
  • Diversity and Gender Equality;
  • Multilingual and Cultural Diversity;
  • Digitalization of Learning Spaces.

In line with the theme, the team from the Portuguese Catholic University (UCP) involved in the project will present a retrospective of the 3 years of development of the TESTEd Project, the study program and will also debate the prospects for the present and future of schools and teacher training.

This conference aims to guarantee both a scientific audience and teachersdoctoral studentsstudents and schools access to a platform to present their research work, projects and teaching activities in the field of the five cross-cutting interdisciplinary topics mentioned.

The deadline for submissions is October 30, 2024, with a response on the acceptance of the proposal by November 25, 2024.
