- To provide the students with some basic knowledge about the spiritual dimension of Literature.
- To provide the student with the basic competences for a contextualized personal reading of some writers relevant to the history of spirituality.
- To understand the role of the spiritual dimension in the genesis of a literary culture and in the fruition of the literary text.
- To provide (almost) direct access to some sources of Western spirituality and make students aware of their persistence throughout the history of literary creation.
