On 10 December, the Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences (FFCS) of the Portuguese Catholic University (UCP) - Braga welcomed  Fr. Miguel Almeida, SJ, Provincial Superior of the Portuguese Province of the Society of Jesus, as part of his canonical visit to the FFCS Jesuit Community.

At the beginning of the meeting, Fr Provincial met with the teaching and non-teaching staff of the Braga Campus, where he emphasised the ‘identity mark’ of the FFCS, as the first faculty of the UCP, with the singularity of being associated with the Jesuits and their vocation for teaching. Lunch and socialising followed.

During this visit, Fr Miguel Almeida also made himself available to meet and talk individually with teaching and non-teaching staff who wished to do so.

According to the Director of the FFCS, Fr. Bruno Nobre, this is ‘a very significant moment in the life of our Faculty and an opportunity to value and promote the institution's identity as a work of the Society of Jesus’.
