Call for expressions of interest from students to take part in the Language Buddy Mentor Training event, to be held in Malta from May 8 to 10, 2025

Thursday, March 20, 2025 - 18:18

The Faculty of Philosophy and Social Sciences of UCP, Braga Campus, in collaboration with the different partners of the international consortium of the Language Buddy Project, announces the launch of another event within the scope of this same project, organized under the EU-funded AMIF initiative.

This transformative program is designed to support the integration of migrant children and young adults through innovative language tutoring initiatives carried out by Higher Education Institutions in all partner countries.

Funded by the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF), the Language Buddy project aims to address some of the possible educational and social gaps experienced by young migrants by fostering links between students from Higher Education Institutions and migrant mentors.

Through a combination of training, mentoring and practical language learning activities, the project responds to the growing need for accessible and effective integration tools for migrants in Europe.

The next event of this project will be a three-day Training of Trainers Workshop with international students from seven European countries, who will travel to Malta between May 8 and 10, 2025.

Students from different levels of education (undergraduate to postgraduate) who are interested in becoming trainers and mentors for the Language Buddy program are therefore invited to express their interest in this event by contacting the members of the Portuguese project team (pcdias@ucp.pt; cmartins@ucp.pt; crsilva@ucp.pt; rrmonteiro@ucp.pt).

This project is co-funded by the European Union through the Asylum, Migration, and Integration Fund.
