To problematize the field of literary studies and the place of the theory of literature, in its interdisciplinary dimension:
- Question the nature of literature and successive attempts to problematize its definition;
- Assimilate the eminently intertextual dimension of literary language and the new languages or supports of literary expression;
- Understand the implications of the processes of globalization, crisis of the humanities and post-modernity in the work of literary theory;
- Understand the main compositional codes of the literary genres - narrative, poetic and dramatic - and their transformation in the post-modern culture
- Analyze literary texts (novel, poetry and drama), testing the potentialities of the most recent theories
- Understand the comparative perspective of the relations between literature and the other arts (music, painting, cinema).
